In the spirit of love, compassion, and the festive season, the Let It Flo Christmas Charity Initiative came to life as a heartfelt tribute to the late Florence Higgins, affectionately known as “Flo”, my dear aunt whose love for Christmas continues to inspire acts of kindness and community support.

Florence Higgins, fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit and love for Christmas, passed away in 2020. In a desire to keep her memory alive and fueled by my wish to give back to the community, the Let It Flo Christmas Charity Initiative was conceived. Christmas, being her favorite holiday, became the perfect occasion to carry forward her legacy of generosity and warmth.

 

The Inaugural Event - Christmas 2023

Ten dedicated volunteers generously lent their time and hearts to make the day truly special. The volunteers engaged with the girls, fostering a sense of connection and understanding. Together, they sang Christmas songs, danced, and shared the warmth of a joyous Christmas morning. The experience was not only heartwarming but also a testament to the power of a community coming together for a noble cause.

 

The Let It Flo Christmas Charity Initiative succeeded in bringing smiles and holiday cheer to the girls at the Pringle Home. The personal interactions and shared moments created a memorable Christmas experience for everyone involved. This inaugural event is just the beginning of a series of charitable initiatives, and the Let It Flo team is already looking forward to making a positive impact in 2024.

 

As we reflect on the success of our first endeavor, we extend an invitation to all who are interested in giving back to a worthy cause.
